Description:The relationship between diet and disease has become a key component of health promotion and disease prevention efforts to assist the public in improving their overall health status. The definition of nutrition is in the process of transformation; it is no longer perceived only as a deficiency condition, but currently it is also regarded as a health promotion and protection mechanism. A new focus in the field of nutrition has been given to improved education concerning good nutrition and the increased use of nutritional supplements, in contrast to the current focus on obesity and eating disorders.
