  In the United States in 1976, about 1,122,000 women 15-19 years of age were married, divorced, widowed, or separated; of these, 480,000 were mothers of at least one chiId. Another 332,000 women in this age group were never married mothers who had offspring living with them. The 1,122,000 ever married women 15-19 accounted for about 11 percent, and the 332,000 ever married mothers, about 3 percent of the 0.4 million women 15-19 years of age in 1976.
