Description:The data presented in this report are the latest nationwide statistics on contraceptive utilization from the 1976 and 1973 National Surveys of Family Growth conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics. The data were collected by means of personal interviews with a multistage probability sample of women 15-44 years of age in the noninstitutionalized population of the conterminous United States. Women were eligible for inclusion in the sample if they were currently or previously married or were never married but had offspring presently living in the household.
