Second Quarter 1970

In the second quarter of 1970, 1,836 isolations of shigella from humans were reported. This number represents an increase of 215 (13.3 percent) over the 1,621 isolations in the first quarter of 1970 and no change from the number of isolations reported in the second quarter of 1969 (Table I).
