Description:A walk-through survey was conducted by NIOSH at the Monsanto Company, Texas City, Texas, on June 9, 1977, as part of a study of workers with occupational exposure to styrene (100425). The plant and the styrene process (SIC-2865) are briefly described. Potential hazards at this plant include exposure to styrene, benzene (71432), toluene (108883) and ethylbenzene (100414). The need for a NIOSH industrial hygiene survey should be determined after study of environmental data collected by Monsanto. [Description provided by NIOSH]
