Description:Further fungal exposure assessment studies are required to elucidate the adverse health effects associated with non-gonomorphic fungal particle exposure. The recent developments in air sampling and analytical detection techniques will further enable the quantification of these particulates in indoor, outdoor and occupational environments. Future investigations should focus on the quantification of these materials using the discussed methodological advances or later improvements that are made on them. The correlation of reliably established antigen quantities with adverse health effects will ultimately improve patient management as well as scientific understanding. [Description provided by NIOSH]
