• Description:
  Industrial Hygiene Institutes were held the summers of 1976 and 1977. Attendees at these Institutes were selected college professors who were seeking a theoretical and practical base for the development of industrial hygiene engineering course work at their own institutions. Laboratory and field experience with specific industrial hygiene engineering and control applications was provided. The first Institute was attended by 13 individuals and the product of the course consisted of a set of instructor guides for a comprehensive course in industrial hygiene engineering. The second Institute was substantially different in that attendees were expected to teach materials which had been previously developed. Thus the Institute provided a test environment for a new course being developed. Each attendee acted as an instructor in the test teaching of certain materials. Those attending these two Institutes found them very beneficial. [Description provided by NIOSH]
