Description:The undergraduate program in occupational safety and health at Catonsville Community College, Catonsville, Maryland was expanded and strengthened. As a result of this, an associates degree or Certificate for Occupational Safety and Health could be obtained. The curriculum contained eleven occupational safety and health courses. The curriculum was fully in place by 1976, and up to 1980 27 associates degrees and 31 Certificates have been awarded. All of these individuals were employed and active in occupational safety and health. The course work includes studies in composition, blue print reading, occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, safety and health standards, physical science, construction safety and health, maritime safety and health, technical mathematics, business mathematics, human relations, recognition and control of physical and health hazards, accident prevention and loss control, industrial fire hazards, literature, speech, social science, technical writing, fitness and enrichment, and human factors in safety.
