  Several studies on dust control technology from the School of Textiles at North Carolina State University are summarized. The studies were designed to evaluate the effects of genetic, cultural and ginning variations on the concentration of cotton dust generated during processing operations. The authors note that cultural and genetic variations have little or no effect on dust concentrations, but steaming the cotton in the gin and using lint cleaners consistently and significantly reduces the amount of dust generated.
