• Description:
  Chemicals and processes which have been deemed as having carcinogenic potential by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the National Toxicology Program, NIOSH, OSHA, or the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) were compiled in a tabular listing. The document indicated the category which each of the agencies specified for each chemical compound or process. These categories differentiated between substances or processes which are known to be carcinogens in humans, which are probably carcinogenic to humans, which give sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in laboratory animals, which have potential for carcinogenicity, which are currently regulated by OSHA as carcinogens, which are currently regulated by OSHA for reasons other than carcinogenicity, and human carcinogens with or without ACGIH assigned threshold limit values. Also indicated were IARC laboratory reference compounds. Synonyms for the compounds were listed and grouped by their Chemical Abstracts Service Registry Numbers. An alphabetical listing of these synonyms was also provided. Over 180 different chemicals and processes were listed.
