Description:Results of the Washington Foundry Survey (SIC-3325) conducted in May 1971, are reported. Respirable dust counts in the various facilities varied from 0.5 to 8.5 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/cu m). The percentage of free silica (7631869) in settled dust varied from 0.2 to 31. Air concentrations of trace metals in milligrams per cubic meter are tabulated for manganese (7439965), zinc (7440666), chromium (7440473), nickel (7440020), lead (7439921), and iron-oxide (1309371).
