General air samples for asbestos (1332214) were collected at the American Asbestos Textile Company (SIC-3292) in Meredith, New Hampshire, and were analyzed by the membrane filter method and the impinger count method. Extensive measurements provided by each method from samples collected in the fiber preparation and blending, carding, spinning, twisting, winding, weaving and miscellaneous areas are listed. The author recommends control evaluation in areas where concentrations exceed 50 fibers per cubic centimeter measured by the membrane filter method, or 5 million particles per cubic foot measured by the impinger method.
