Description:Air sampling for asbestos (1332214) dust was conducted by the United States Public Health Service at Johns Manville Company (SIC-2221) in Manville, New Jersey, during April, 1971. Asbestos concentrations ranged from 1.4 to 17.5 fibers greater than 5 microns per cubic centimeter (f/cc) in the fiber preparation area; 0.4 to 29.0f/cc in carding operations; 2.8 to 4.5f/cc near spinning work; 1.0 to 13.7f/cc in twisting operations; 1.0 to 5.6f/cc in the winding area; 2.4 to 20.2f/cc near the weaving operations; and 0.4 to 4.8f/cc at various other operations.
