Description:Report of a fibrous glass dust and industrial hygiene survey conducted by NIOSH in the General Electric Appliance Park (SIC- 3631), Louisville, Kentucky. Nine personal samples were taken for evaluation of asbestos, fibrous glass and free silica (7631869) exposures in the course of two days. Topics include description of the plant and medical program, personal protection and safety program, description of sampled processes, sampling evaluation procedures and results, noise level measurements, ventilation measurements, conclusions and recommendations. Chemicals involved include 1,1,2-trichloroethane (79005), 1,2,2-trifluoroethane, styrene (100425), and petroleum naphtha.
