Trends of monkeypox cases reported to CDC since May 17, 2022, the start of the response to the current outbreak in the United States. Data include cases with reporting date.

Data are updated every Wednesday as soon as they are reviewed and verified. This graph includes cases that have known reporting dates. Data may vary from U.S. total case counts as some cases in the total count may be reported without a specific reporting date. Historical cases may be added as additional information is obtained through case investigations.

* Includes either the positive laboratory test report date, CDC call center reporting date, or case data entry date into CDC’s emergency response common operating platform, DCIPHER.
