This report contains highlights of demographic and employment characteristics of persons trained in the field of podiatric medicine who resided in the United States in 1974. This information was obtained

during a survey of the Nation’s podiatrists, conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), between October and December of 1974. Of the 8,261 podiatrists surveyed, 7,253 (88 percent) completed this survey’ s questionnaire.
