Description:Estimates are presented in this report on the utilization of short-stay hospitals in the United States during 1966 and 1967. The data are based on information collected in the Hospital Discharge Survey from the hospital records of a national sample of patients discharged from short-stay hospitals. The data for 1966 exclude military and Veterans Administration hospitals, and the data for 1967 exclude all Federal hospitals. Well newborn infants in the participating hospitals are outside the scope of this study. ; mv20_02sacc.pdf
