Description:The purpose of this report is to describe the utilization of analgesic drugs in office-based ambulatory care. The report combines the 1980 and 1981 findings of the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, an annual, sample survey of office- based physicians conducted from 1973 through 198I by the National Center for Health Statistics. The National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS) is scheduled to take the field again in 19S5and every third year following.
