    Presently, cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been detected in most countries worldwide. On Friday, March 6, 2020, President Trump signed the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2020 (Public Law 116-123). Title III of the Act, provides $2.2 billion for CDC-wide activities and program support, to prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19, noting that not less than $300 million shall be for global disease detection and emergency response activities. Subsequently, on Friday, March 27, 2020, the President signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act (Public Law 116-127). Division B, Title VII provides $4.3 billion for CDC-wide activities to prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19 domestically or internationally, noting that not less than $500 million shall be available for global disease detection and emergency response activities.
