Description:The data on this page was collected earlier in the U.S. COVID-19 outbreak. Due to the ongoing community spread of the virus, this information is no longer relevant to understanding the current situation. This information was last updated on April 16, 2020 but remains on this page for reference.
About the Data on This Page
1. On March 24, 2020, CDC updated the data included in this figure to include estimated illness onset date.
2. CDC is no longer reporting: the total number of persons under investigation (PUIs) tested; and the number of PUIs who tested negative. CDC’s numbers do not represent all testing in the U.S. now that U.S. states and territories are testing and reporting their COVID-19 cases.
3. About the “Diamond Princess” Cruise Ship cases: Lab tests confirmed these cases. These people might not have shown symptoms.
