Description:cdc:5860 ; The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) released the Toxicological Profile (Update) for Styrene in November 2010. ; Since the release of the profile, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), National Toxicology Program (NTP) listed styrene as “reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen” in the Report on Carcinogens , Twelfth Edition, released on June 10, 2011 (http://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/go/roc12). The listing of styrene was based on human cancer studies, laboratory animal studies, and supporting mechanistic data. ; ATSDR and the National Center for Environmental Health were included in the NTP deliberations on styrene carcinogenicity and agree with the NTP in its classification of styrene. ; styrene_addendum.pdf
