Description:This report describes the family arrangements of children 17 years of age and under and the association between family structure and various demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the children and their families. The focus of the report is on the relationship between family structure and children's health and well-being. Physical health, educational attainment, and emotional health are compared for children in the four most common types of family. Data are from the 1988 National Health Interview Survey on Child Health.
