Description:The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Health Resources and Ser- vices Administration (HRSA), HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB). The Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act was passed by Congress in 1990 to address the crisis of the HIV epi- demic in the United States. This legislation has been amended and reauthorized 4 times: in 1996, 2000, 2006, and most recently in 2009 as the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009.
