Description:In 1980, 30,004 isolations of Salmonella from humans were reported to the Centers for Disease Control, a decrease of 1,119 isolations (3,6%) from the previous year. Salmonella typhimurlum (including S. typhimurium var. Copenhagen) , S. heidelberg, and S. enteritidis were the first, second, and third most frequently isolated serotypes, respectively.
