Description:From 1971 through 1975, the total annual number of enteroviruses isolated per 10 million people in the states and territories that report this information to the Center for Disease Control ranged from 59.8 to 112. Enteroviral infections occurred predominantly in males, and children under 1 year of age were most frequently affected. Peak months of disease onset were July, August, and September.
