  • Description:
    For month of August 1964

During August, 1,777 human isolations of salmonellae were reported, for an average weekly total of 444, an increase of 12 over the July figure.

The percentage of Salmonella derby isolations reported continues to drop (Table VII). Whether this represents a true drop in the incidence or reflects diminution of "interest" factors is still unclear.

A total of 511 nonhuman isolations were reported in August, for a decrease of 84 from last month.
