Description:This report presents dietary intake estimates of 10 nutrients for the U.S. population by sex and age groups. Nutrient intakes are estimated from one 24-hour dietary recall interview conducted in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 1999-2000. Population means, medians, and standard errors of the mean are weighted to produce national estimates. Assessment of dietary intakes is an important part of monitoring the nutritional status of the U.S.
