Description:"The definition of, purpose of, and procedure for participation by the family member in the National Coal Workers' Autopsy Study were presented in pamphlet format. It outlined the option of a family member of a deceased coal miner to arrange for an autopsy, the absence of cost to the miner's family or estate, and the benefit of the procedure. The purpose of the National Coal Workers' Autopsy Study was to gain information on coal workers' pneumoconiosis (CWP). NIOSH studies the data gathered in order to aid in the efforts toward prevention and early detection of CWP. The definition of an autopsy, eligibility, arrangement for an autopsy, consent for an autopsy, and the dissemination of the results were also discussed." - NIOSHTIC-2
