Description:This book is published by the Division of Quarantine (DQ), National Center for Infectious Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as a reference for those who advise international travelers of health risks. It is written primarily for health care providers, although others who advise travelers, such as travel agencies, airlines, cruise lines, missionary organizations, and academic institutions, might find the information useful. Additional information, as well as an online version of this text, can be found on the CDC Internet website at http://www.cdc.gov/travel. Regional and disease-specific documents may be requested from the CDC Fax Information Service at 1-888-CDC- FAXX (232-3299); the directory of international travel documents is available by request from the same number. Users who are not medical professionals might find these sources to be more user friendly. All these resources specify the vaccinations required by different countries and include information on preventive measures that travelers should take to protect their health.
