Description:This report was compiled by the NIOSH Oil and Gas Safety and Health Program using the NIOSH Fatalities in Oil and Gas Extraction (FOG) database. FOG is a new internal system that collects detailed information about land-based and offshore oil and gas extraction fatalities in the U.S. It is used to inform NIOSH, industry, and other stakeholder groups, and guide interventions that will prevent future loss of life in this industry.
