  A First Catch:Since its inception in December 1995, FoodNet, the Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network, has made large strides in investigating and describing the burden of foodborne disease in the United States. Requests from persons in state health departments, regulatory agencies, and other locations have led us to start up an informal reporting outlet. Thus, The Catchment, a means to update you on FoodNet activities, accomplishments, and plans for future directions.
