The Cochrane report: what really works in hearing loss prevention?

  In the Cochrane Review it is noted that even though case studies show that substantial noise reductions can be achieved, there is no evidence that they are being achieved. Better implementation of hearing loss prevention programs and enforcement of legislation are needed. Evaluation studies of technical interventions and longterm effects are lacking. For example, the effects of a hearing loss prevention program could be tested in a trial in which companies are randomised by intervention and followed for five years. [Description provided by NIOSH]
