Description:Knudsen cell mass spectrometric analysis of the vapors over molten AgBr between 711 deg and 963 deg K indicates the existence of three vapor molecules: AgBr, Ag3Br2, and Ag3Br3. "Second law" heats of vaporization, delta-hv1 for the three vapor species are calculated to be 41.4+/-1.1 Kcal mole-1, 33.6+/-1.1 Kcal mole1, and 29.2+/-1.8 Kcal mole-1, respectively. The heat of trimerization is --95.0+/-3.8 Kcal mole-1. Ionization potentials for AgBr, Ag3Br2, and Ag3Br3 are 9.5+/-0.3 eV, 10.0+/-0.2 eV, and 9.8+/-0.2 eV respectively.
