  The Undergraduate Education Project was one of the first projects undertaken by the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) and included a set of 90 problems, designed for use in nine core courses for teaching about safety, health and loss prevention to chemical engineering students at the undergraduate level. This report detailed the background of the project, the publication and dissemination of the student problems and instructor's guides, an analysis of project finances, and the future plans. Several enclosures were with the publication including Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology study scores for occupational safety and health courses at engineering schools by engineering discipline; basic concepts of safety, health and loss prevention for chemical engineering; overall project considerations; content of problem materials for undergraduate chemical engineering; members of CCPS's undergraduate education committee; problematic and nonproblematic concepts for problems for undergraduate chemical engineering curricula; test problem questionnaire for the instructor; undergraduate education problem matrix; example problems; and advertisements and press releases concerning the program.
