Description:A brief description of the Neurobehavioral Core Test Battery, developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to study the neurobehavioral effects of workplace chemicals was presented The tests selected were internationally applicable and could be successfully administered regardless of education, culture or geographical area. The instrument was inexpensive, simple, and appropriate, and consisted mainly of paper and pencil tests. The battery was brief in nature, easy to administer, and relatively free of cultural bias. Tests were chosen based on previous positive results in neurotoxic research and the ability to provide sufficient information on central nervous system functions. [Description provided by NIOSH]
