Description:The problem of coronary heart disease diagnosis is discussed in terms of recognition of symptomatic coronary disease, identification of presymptomatic disease, and the identification of susceptible individuals before coronary artery disease develops. The electrocardiographic stress test is cited as the only means by which individuals with presymptomatic coronary artery disease can be recognized. [Description provided by NIOSH]
