Description:The effects of exercise on dehydration and rehydration are studied in subjects walking in the desert, or in a laboratory hot room at different humidities. Fit males are found to be able to maintain body weight, and lessen the rise in rectal temperature and heart rate by drinking a cold salt solution of appropriate concentration.
