Description:Light and electron microscopy study of lungs of rats fed cadmium- chloride (10108642) for 6-41 weeks showed thickened subpleural elastic layer and interstitium. After six weeks, large bundles of unit collagen fibrils, elastic fibers, and smaller fibrils were seen. After 16 and 41 weeks large bundles of collagen fibers and elastic fibers are present.
