Description:Sound pressure level measurements are made in a room housing the air- conditioning equipment, and other auxiliary equipment, such as chilled water pumps and power equipment for the air conditioning system motors, for a building. A potential hearing loss problem is found to exist, and recommendations are made for immediate and periodic pure tone audiograms for employees, supplying of ear muffs and ear plugs for, and required wearing by, employees until sound pressur e is reduced to a safe level, and reduction of sound pressure level to a safe level by engineering control.
