Description:Industrial hygiene sampling and analytical monitoring methods are described for chromic-acid (7738945) and chromates; chromium (7440473) in soluble chromic and chromous salts; magnesium-oxide (1309484) fume; chromium in metal and insoluble compounds; lead (7439921) and inorganic lead compounds; molybdenum (7439987) in insoluble compounds; and titanium dioxide (13463677). The methods are validated under the joint NIOSH/OSHA Standards Completion Program for Set-O. For each compound, the analyte, matrix, OSHA standard and validation date are given, and the method is described in terms of the principle of the method, range and sensitivity, interferences, precision and accuracy, advantages and disadvantages, apparatus, reagents, detailed procedure, analysis, sample recovery, calibration and standards, calculations, and references. Compounds are collected by filter collection and analyses are by atomic absorption or colorimetry. The methods are verified as suitable for measuring airborne concentrations of the listed compounds, but other methods meeting the accuracy requirements may be used. [Description provided by NIOSH]
