  The effect of oil mist inhalation was investigated. Monkeys and rats were exposed to oil mist concentrations of 50 milligrams per cubic meter for 27 weeks or 13 months. Microscopic histopathic examinations of liver, lungs, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, heart, adrenals, and skin were performed. Chronic focal pancreatitis occurred in two rats exposed for 13 months; however no consistent, significant treatment related effects were evident in monkeys or rats. [Description provided by NIOSH]
