  Test results using the NIOSH analytical method S230 for boron- trifluoride (7637072) are reported. Samples were reacted with sodium-fluoride (7681494) to form the tetrafluoborate ion and were analyzed by a fluoborate ion specific electrode, or were reacted with an amine and were analyzed by gas chromatography with an electron capture detector. Analytical apparatus and chemicals are described. Data on electrode responses, sample stability, and recovery rates is included. Neither procedure provided adequate reproducibility or specificity.
