Description:A walk-through survey was conducted by NIOSH at the Cosden Oil Company, Big Spring, Texas, on June 8, 1977. The styrene (100425) and polystyrene (9003536) processes (SIC-2865) are described. An industrial hygiene survey to determine the levels of worker exposure is recommended. However, an epidemiological study would be difficult with respect to styrene because of the many chemicals present and the frequent shifting of workers throughout the facility.
