Measurable objectives for the fiscal year 1986 included the development of a prevention strategy for the first five of the ten major work related diseases and injuries, conduct 20 health hazard evaluations in mines and related industries, conduct 550 health hazard evaluations for general industry, develop eight policy documents, provide work force development training for 665 individuals through the academic program of the educational resource centers, develop a plan to describe a NIOSH surveillance system for occupational safety and health, and conduct 75 fatality and injury investigations.
