Description:Discussion of the sampling of organic vapors using activated charcoal. Topics include sample procedure, sample stability, capacity of charcoal and toluene breakthrough. Data are given on activated coconut charcoal MSA-6, on activated charcoals, and on activated petroleum charcoal 580-26. A diagram is given of the charcoal tube sampling device, with graphs illustrating the stability of 2-butanone, and trichloroethylene on charcoal samples; breakthrough curve, and adsorption potential against breakthrough capacity for toluene on activated coconut charcoal MSA-6 and activated petroleum charcoal 580-26.
