Description:The article describes the Ohio Quality of Work Project. The aim is to facilitate the involvement of all parties in an effort to increase the extent to which security, equity, individualization and participation are present in people's jobs and in the work environment. The project starts with a demonstration effort which has three phases spread over a 39 month period. During the third phase general changes and specific projects are undertaken. Questionnaires are used to determine initial levels of satisfaction, health and behavior, and improvements during the project. Based on the initial questionnaire, the associations between quality of work life dimensions and outcomes (indicators of stress) are presented. [Description provided by NIOSH]
