  Supply, demand and resources of energy in the United States are presented in relation to the two solutions to the energy crisis, conservation and new resource development. Specific goals for both conservation and resource development are listed. Efficient use of energy for heating, cooling and lighting in buildings is discussed: building design, heat recovery and recirculation systems are emphasized. Much air recirculation in industry can be accomplished without risking worker health. Deciding priorities between economic and energy actions is a political process, which may ultimately produce restrictions by price or legislation on the availability and use of conventional energy sources.
