Description:Papers given at a symposium on manual materials handling safety are presented. The symposium was held in July, 1976 at State University of New York at Buffalo. Contributions on the following topics are included: measurements and standards; models of human performance; factors affecting performance; and implementing manual materials handling research. Workshop findings concerning medical aspects, standards development, and personal protection program development are summarized future research needs also are identified.
