Description:This report (Contract No. H0220073) describes work done on electromagnetic direction finding systems between July of 1972 and April of 1973. Two design approaches were included in this effort: (1) a prototype pulse system was fabricated and subjected to limited testing, and (2) a continuous wave system was fabricated and tested at three operating mine sites. In late 1972, the pulse system effort was discontinued in favor of the continuous wave system approach. After modifications, the continuous wave system was subjected to limited testing, which was completed in May of 1973. [Description provided by NIOSH]
