Description:The purpose of the meeting described in this paper is to improve understanding of statistics on mineral production and processing collected and/or published by the participating countries-- Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Mexico, Peru, United States, and Venezuela. This report, a summary of the deliberations of the 2d meeting on the definitions and scope of nonfuel mineral production statistics in America, held September 16-21, 1984, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, consists of two major sections. The first provides data for each participating country for 12 commodities, iron ore, manganese, copper, lead, zinc, gold, silver, molybdenum, tin, tungsten, fluorspar, and phosphate rock, as provided at the conference. The second part presents the data on each commodity into one or more summary tables, each on as nearly a standard basis as is possible. Explanatory text describes differences in definitions as necessary for understanding of the tabular material. [Description provided by NIOSH]
